Irish Muslims holding protest in Dublin against actions of ISIS

Muslims from across Ireland are gathered in Dublin this afternoon to protest the actions of ISIS.

Muslims from across Ireland are gathered in Dublin this afternoon to protest the actions of ISIS.

They say that the acts committed by ISIS do not reflect the views of their religion.

The 'Not in Our Name' protest is taking place on O’Connell Street in Dublin city centre, having been gathering since 1pm.

One of the organisers - Shaykh Dr Umar Al-Qadri - says that they are offended by the acts of ISIS.

He says that this is not what his religion is about.

"I believe that we should not call it the Islamic State...it is actually an unIslamic State," Shaykh Umar Al-Qadri said earlier this week.

"So I would argue that media should not give legitimate authority to these people to these extremists by calling it an Islamic State," he added.
